First look at Alan Ritchson’s new Christmas movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger

The Man with the Baga new Christmas film starring Alan Ritchson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, has released its first-look image.

The comedy film, which is being directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Disenchanted), follows Santa as he turns to his naughty list to recruit Vance (Ritchson) with the aim of retrieving his magic bag and saving Christmas.

The feature, which is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, currently has few details other than its synopsis, though a first image has now been released as the two lead stars are pictured together.

Schwarzenegger, who will presumably play Santa, took to Instagram to share the photo, writing: “Santa Claus is coming to town! It is fantastic to be shooting The Man with the Bag with @alanritchson.

“Our director @adamshankman is one of the funniest directors I’ve worked with, New York City is an amazing host, working with @amazonmgmstudios is a joy, and I can’t wait to share all of this Christmas cheer with each and every one of you.”

The official account for Amazon MGM Studios commented on the post as they wrote: “Our favorite new duo!”, with fans also sharing their excitement for the project as one remarked: “Made my Christmas. I was waiting for a picture from the set!”

“Look at these legends. Outstanding.” added a second fan, with a third proposing a story idea for the film as they suggested: “Climax: Santa Arnie jams a giant candy cane sword through the belly of Krampus and says, ‘I sleigh.’”

The Man with the Bag marks Schwarzenegger’s first festive film since 1996’s Jingle All the Wayin which he plays a father battling to get his son the perfect gift for Christmas.

The Man with the Bag currently has no confirmed release date.
