It looks like the Wet Bandits weren’t the only ones to come away with some bumps and scraps, as Macaulay Culkin claims he has a scar from an injury he gained on the Home Alone set from his co-star, Joe Pesci.
It has been more than three decades since eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) booby-trapped his Chicago house to stop the Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) from breaking in after being left ‘home alone’ by mistake when his family jets off to Paris for the holidays.
And boy does he put them through the ringer.
From slipping on ice, paint cans to the face and electrocution, Kevin spares no mercy for the Wet Bandits.
Though most of the stunts were, of course, the result of movie magic and a stuntman, some left physical scars for Pesci, who revealed in 2022 that one stunt he did himself left him with ‘serious burns’ on top of his head.
However, it seems that the Goodfellas star wasn’t the only one to come away with an injury from set.
As reported by The New York Times, Culkin recently revealed in a Q&A that he’d actually sustained an injury while rehearsing a scene with Pesci.

The star is currently on tour around the US for his event, A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkinwhere he screens Home Alone before answering a Q&A with film fans.
At a screening at the Rosemont Theatre, he spoke about his interactions with two of his co-stars, Pesci, and Catherine O’Hara, who played his on-screen mother.
Culkin had plenty of praise for some of his collaborators, like scriptwriter John Hughes, John Candy, who played the polka musician who helps Kevin’s mom get back to Chicago, and O’Hara, who he says he still calls ‘Mom’, adding: “She opens her up arms – she goes, ‘son’.”
He also revealed that during a rehearsal with Pesci, he was scripted to threaten a young Kevin, however, seemingly took it a bit too far.
Culkin said: “He was trying to scare me. He was like, ‘I want to be menacing to this kid’.”

The scene involved Harry threatening to bite Kevin’s fingers off, but the Raging Bull star accidentally ended up chomping down on Culkin’s hand, with Culkin adding: “I have a scar”.
However, in the moment, the actor said he didn’t react much and instead remembers Pesci’s face, which was apparently horrified to have actually bitten him.
He continued: “I saw his face – and I’ve never ever seen Joe Pesci actually scared. Because he’s like, ‘I just bit a kid!'”
UNILAD has contacted Pesci’s representatives for comment.
