Lazio-Inter free is worth ‘only’ 1.347 million on Dazn. But he gets on the podium on Monday

Lazio-Inter for free, which ended with a six-nil victory away from home for Simone Inzaghi’s men, did not make a splash on Dazn. But it is still the third most watched program of the evening after the Rai1 fiction and the Canale 5 reality show.

Lazio-Inter for free is going strong but doesn’t break through. Whether a match is offered in a free or pay version on Dazn, in the end the number of spectators of Serie A football does not increase considerably.

Yesterday, for example, the match between the Biancocelesti and the Nerazzurri, broadcast on an apparently ideal Monday to boost an interesting ratings result, and with a pyrotechnic performance of the match (0-6 for Simone Inzaghi’s men), the balance can be define only satisfactory: 1.347 million viewers.

The ratings of the sixteenth round on Dazn

Last year the same match attracted 1.421 million spectators at this time. The other free match broadcast a few weeks ago, Napoli-Milan, had instead reached 1.883 million, however remaining below the result of the Milan derby (1.972 million) and that of Inter-Juventus.

The Italian derby, in particular, obtained a total audience of 1 million 937 thousand spectators on Sky and then a further 1.2 million on Dazn. Thus the fact that the seasonal record was achieved by a non-exclusive match and that the potential additional free budget of streaming is perhaps not such as to justify too many promotional actions like the one just conducted by Dazn suggests.

Having said this, it should be remembered that these days a budget of 1.347 million viewers is still considerable. Yesterday’s match lost out in comparison with the Rai1 drama ‘Vincenzo Malinconico’ and with ‘Big Brother’ on Canale 5, but it largely beat all the other generalist options, which remained well below the one million mark.

Sky beats Dazn on the Juventus co-exclusive, not on Roma

The other matches of the sixteenth round? On Dazn Milan-Genoa achieved 974 thousand spectators. Udinese-Napoli had 745 thousand spectators. Juventus-Venice, on the other hand, 704 thousand spectators on Sky and 528 thousand on Dazn. For Como-Rome, however, Sky at 395 thousand and Dazn at 480 thousand.
