Christmas bonus 2024: are you eligible for this aid paid from Tuesday? : News

The Christmas bonus will be paid by the Family Allowance Fund or Travail to certain beneficiaries of minimum social benefits, without any action to be taken, from this Tuesday, December 17, reports TF1info.

Welcome help for many French people. As reported by TF1info, the Christmas bonus will be paid from this Tuesday, December 17 to 2.3 million French people, who will not have to take any action to benefit from it. In fact, the payment is automatically made by the family allowance fund (CAF), the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) or France Travail into the bank accounts.

To be eligible for this non-taxable aid, which has been extended continuously since 1998, you must have received active solidarity income (RSA), the specific solidarity allowance (ASS) or the retirement equivalent allowance in November or December 2024 ( AER). For households starting to receive the RSA, ASS or AER in December 2024, the Christmas bonus will be paid in January 2025. Usually indexed to inflation, the amount of this aid remains unchanged this year and will therefore be the even as in 2023.

What amount in 2024 for the Christmas bonus?

The amount of the Christmas bonus is fixed for ASS or AER beneficiaries, who will receive 152.45 euros paid by France Travail. On the other hand, the Christmas bonus varies depending on the composition of each household for RSA beneficiaries. If a person living alone also receives 152.45 euros, the amount rises to 228.68 euros for a single parent with one child or a couple without children, 274.41 euros for a single parent with two children or a couple with one child and up to 503.09 euros for a family of seven, or a couple with five children. Beyond this threshold, CAF will pay 60.98 euros for each additional person.
