The Christmas bonus is paid from Tuesday December 17. This is a boost awaited by the most precarious French people as the holidays approach. Its amount varies depending on the situation: for a single person, the payment is 152.45 euros. Households with a couple and two children will receive 320.15 euros. This aid is not indexed to inflation. It is reserved for beneficiaries of the RSA, the specific solidarity allowance or the retirement equivalent allowance.

The Christmas bonus is not taxable and is paid directly into the account by the Family Allowance Fund. “We are talking about 2 million households out of the 30 million households that exist in France”, explains Mathieu Plane, deputy director of the Analysis and Forecasting Department of the OFCE. For new beneficiaries, who started receiving an allowance in December, the Christmas bonus will be paid in January.
