Inter makes the prefix of Rome and with a 0-6 against Lazio makes a clear and strong call to all the contenders for the Scudetto. This is the first comment on a sumptuous performance by the Nerazzurri made by Simone Inzaghi to the microphones of DAZN:
Six players scoring, today Inter gave an important signal of excessive power. It was Inter who caused fear in the championship.
“Yes, especially having beaten a team that was in an excellent moment. In the first twenty minutes we did not fall apart, keeping our distance well. Then after the third goal everything became easier thanks to these guys who have given me a huge commitment for three and a half years. I’m proud to be their coach. We didn’t do anything, we got a great victory against an opponent in a great moment.”
What message did you send with this success? Are you the strongest?
“The field will tell this. We had an excellent race, prepared well after returning from Leverkusen. The boys prepared it well, we knew Lazio’s qualities but they were good at interpreting it. We have a game to make up for, after the last games of the championship we will have the Super Cup and we will take another match with us. It will all be complicated, but we will work hard and hope for performances like this. We have had great continuity but you can all see the ranking; there are many teams like Lazio who are having an excellent run.”
Since the 4-4 draw with Juventus you have rediscovered that defensive solidity that was the basis of the Scudetto, do you agree?
“Absolutely, I was angry about the goal against Parma because we didn’t deserve it. These guys deserve applause, for a month and a half we have always played even with rotation difficulties in defense given the injuries of Acerbi and Pavard. I had two players booked and I had to insert Darmian from third after he was one of the best fifths in the championship and did it with the intelligence he always has.”
You’ve had some geniuses, is there anything you ask credit for?
“The thing that makes me most proud is the crazy effort these guys put in. I always ask for it, then playing with these rhythms they always put it in training. This is a great group, they all deserve to play and so I try to change as much as possible, then I have to make choices. Then they know like me that after the lost derby a lot of people couldn’t wait for us to stumble like in Leverkusen and a lot has been said, but luckily these guys, like the coach, feel little and work hard.”
