“A good idea”, Monaco coach opens the door to Kolo Muani

Opposed to Saint-Germain on Wednesday, as part of an advanced match of the 16th day of Ligue 1, the AS Monaco coach said he was interested in the French international striker, that he would see himself recover in the form of a loan this winter. To compensate for the long-term absence of its American striker, Folarin Balogun.

AS Monaco has positioned itself for reinforcement in the winter transfer window. “This is our biggest concern,” insisted ASM’s Austrian coach, Adi Hütter, this Monday at a press conference. In anticipation of the long absence of its American striker Folarin Balogun, who will have shoulder surgery this Tuesday, and probably away from the field for a period of between three and four months, the ASM began looking for a striker who scores goals.

Monaco now has an eye on the transfer market, waiting for a good opportunity to present itself to its leaders. “We have to have our eyes open, it’s our job to look at the transfer market to see what we can do, what is the best solution for us,” said Adi Hütter, two days before the match against Paris Saint-Germain. Germain (Wednesday at 9 p.m.), counting for the 16th day of Ligue 1.

“I know Kolo Muani”

Aware that the winter window is particular in that it is not full of obvious solutions, Adi Hütter mentioned the path presented to him at a press conference, leading to Parisian striker Randal Kolo Muani. Although the club has never opened the door to a departure of its player, the Paris Saint-Germain center forward is, with Milan Skriniar, the player least used by Luis Enrique. “Everyone knows it's not easy in winter but when you talk about Kolo Muani, it seems like a good idea to me,” said Adi Hütter.

Remaining on the bench during his team's last two matches in the Champions League, the former Frankfurt player was absent from the Parisian group against Olympique Lyonnais (3-1). A “coach’s choice” on which Luis Enrique did not wish to elaborate at the end of the meeting, but everything suggests that the future of the French international should be written elsewhere next year. On the side of the Principality?

“We have to be honest, we have to find a good solution for the second half of the season. Which striker? We don't know that, but we have profiles in mind,” said Adi Hütter. I have known Kolo Muani since he played in Frankfurt. He has scored a lot of goals and he is perhaps a profile. There are so many other things, and it's not the cheapest. On Friday, the Austrian coach said he wanted to get a player on loan. “We’re not going to spend too much money on a big transfer.”
