240 homes remain without electricity in La Gomera

El Palmar power plant, exterior, La Gomera

The strong wind that sometimes reached hurricane gusts in La Gomera caused by the passage of Storm Dorothea in the last few hours, has left 240 Endesa customers without power supply.

According to the company itself, an attempt is currently being made to restore power in many of these homes using generators, although in some of the affected geographical points they will have to wait for the weather to normalize to be able to access the repairs and conditions that they require. At this time they mainly affect homes in the municipality of Vallehermoso and to a lesser extent in Alajeró.

On the Island there have been some incidents such as falling trees and branches in both urban and rural areas and several landslides on which the island road services are currently acting.

The Government of the Canary Islands currently maintains the maximum wind alert situation on the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and in the northern and western areas of Tenerife, given the probability of very strong gusts of wind and locally hurricanes that could reach 120 km/h.

THERE WILL BE AN EXPANSION
