Angleterre: Manchester United renverse in extremis Manchester City
Manchester United scored in the 88th and 90th minutes in the derby at Manchester City (2-1), at rock bottom after suffering an eighth defeat in eleven matches in all competitions on Sunday.
In the standings, Manchester City remains stuck in fifth place (27 pts), nine lengths behind leader Liverpool (36 pts), who played one match less.
The neighbor and rival, Manchester United, certainly still appears in the second half of the table (12e22 pts), but he offers his new coach Ruben Amorim a prestigious, perhaps foundational, victory.

Chelsea come back to within two points of leader Liverpool
Chelsea obtained a fifth consecutive victory in the Premier League on Sunday against Brentford (2-1), a series which allows them to come back to within two points of leader Liverpool, who however played a game less.
At Stamford Bridge, the Londoners took off thanks to goals from Marc Cucurella (43rd) and Nicolas Jackson (80th), before a reduction in the score signed by Bryan Mbeumo (90th) for the eleventh in the championship.
Since returning from the international break at the end of November, the “Blues” have won their five Premier League matches, scoring sixteen goals in the process, or more than three per match on average.
Enzo Maresca's team is in second place, with 34 points, after the 16th day.
Liverpool (1st, 36 pts) however has an additional cartridge with the derby against Everton, postponed on December 7 due to the violent winds of the Darragh storm, and whose rescheduling date is not yet known.

Germany: Frankfurt falls to Leipzig and leaves 2nd place to Leverkusen
Eintracht Frankfurt lost 2 to 1 on the pitch of RB Leipzig, Sunday evening at the end of the 14e day of the German championship, and leaves 2nd place as Bayern's first pursuer in Leverkusen.
The big winner of the weekend in Germany is Bayer Leverkusen, reigning champion. Xabi Alonso's men signed a seventh consecutive success in all competitions on Saturday in Augsburg (2-0), including one against Inter Milan in the middle of the week in the Champions League.
Leverskusen, Bayern's first pursuer
With the first defeat of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (1-0 in Mainz), the Werkself (factory eleven, nickname of the club team founded by the chemist Bayer in 1904) returned to four points behind the leader (29 against 33), and set himself up alone as the first pursuer of the Munich people.
On Sunday, Eintracht Frankfurt fell for the second time in the space of ten days in Leipzig. After the 3-0 correction in the round of 16 of the German Cup, Dino Toppmöller's men believed until the end that they could bring home a point on Sunday.
Led twice by goals from Benjamin Sesko (19e minute) and Loïs Openda (51e), they came back at the end of the first period thanks to Nathaniel Collins at the conclusion of a one-touch move between Arthur Theate and Can Uzun. But they lacked a little energy in the second half, Kevin Trapp maintaining hope for Frankfurt with several saves.
I'm sleeping way
Leipzig took advantage of this second success in the Bundesliga to come back level with Frankfurt, with 27 points each, Eintracht retaining the advantage on goal difference (+14 against +8).
Behind, Borussia Dortmund failed to maintain its goal lead against Hoffenheim, reaching the score (1-1) in added time.
With this draw, BVB loses contact with Bayer Leverkusen, who now have a seven-point lead (29 against 22) while Bayern is even further behind, eleven points after 14 days.
“I’m obviously not satisfied. It was very, very weak, perhaps our weakest performance of the season,” said Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin at a press conference.
“I am very angry and disappointed that we were unable to hold on to victory until the end and gave up two very valuable points along the way. At the 90e minute, we must defend if we want to achieve our objectives,” he insisted.

Spain: Barça is no longer advancing, Atlético is taking advantage
Trailing from the fourth minute of play, FC Barcelona suffered its fourth defeat of the season in the league on Sunday against promoted Leganés (1-0), leaving its competitors in the title race, Real Madrid and 'Atlético Madrid.
The two teams will face off next weekend at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium in a summit clash for first place.
Held in check (3-3) by its modest neighbor Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, Real Madrid (3rd, 37 points) ultimately did not have such a bad operation and could quickly take the lead in the event of success in its two next meetings against Sevilla FC and Valencia at the beginning of January.
Author of an almost perfect start to the season, the Catalan club has won only one of its last six La Liga matches (3 draws, 2 defeats) and has seen its comfortable lead melt away day after day since its defeat in the Clasico on the pitch of the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of October (4-0).
Atlético continues its crazy series
A decline from which Atlético Madrid was able to benefit, which earlier on Saturday signed an eleventh consecutive victory in all competitions by narrowly winning (1-0) at home against its neighbor Getafe, thanks to a goal from Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth.
The former Villarreal scorer, who came on in the second half, gave his team three valuable points by heading a cross from Argentinian Nahuel Molina (69th, 1-0), allowing Atlético to make a huge move in the standings by overtaking rival Real Madrid and coming back to equal points with FC Barcelona.
Author of his seventh achievement in La Liga since his signing this summer for 32 million euros, his 24th of the year 2024, the Norwegian colossus is the player who has scored the most goals over the past year, behind the Pole Robert Lewandowski (27).
In the other matches of the day, Betis Sevilla (9th, 24 points) carried out a very good operation by winning (2-1) on the pitch of Villarreal (6th, 26 points), despite more than one hour passed at ten after the expulsion of the Argentinian Chimy Avila and Athletic Bilbao (4th, 33 points) was held in check (1-1) at Alavés (17th, 16 points).
And Real Sociedad (7th, 25 points), which remained on five consecutive successes, was slowed down at Anoeta (0-0) by Las Palmas (14th, 19 points).
