We had passed the half-hour mark of the Brest – Nantes match this Sunday, when the Celtic Ultras, accompanied by the Ultras Brestois, began chanting “the Stade de France, we don't want it”, followed by a banner saying the same thing. A criticism repeated for about a minute which did not find any significant echo in the rest of the stands of Le Blé.
At the moment T, the Roudourou is not approved for the next round but according to our information, the work to be carried out would not be insurmountable to carry out. Not of the same ilk in any case as those which had to be undertaken this summer. For example, the number of seats in the press box will have to be greater, as will the commentator positions. The parking available to accommodate the TV control area will have to double. These developments would therefore imply the loss of several hundred places put on sale
.
Supporters lean towards Roudourou
Already contacted by Brest, the Stade de France has a capacity of 80,000 seats. The communication blow would be strong, as would the financial operation which would result from this event in the capital.
The debate is therefore lively, even internally at Stade Brestois, where the question arises of the logistics which could surround the organization of such a match in Saint-Denis. Of the 283 voters in our debate, 71% of them favor Roudourou at the Stade de France.
The X Brest on Air account, which dedicates a podcast dedicated to Stade Brestois news, launched an online petition against the change of stadium for the knockout phase of the Champions League. It has already collected 564 signatures. The Champions League play-offs will take place in February (11-12 for the first leg, 18-19 for the return). At a press conference on Friday, Eric Roy did not favor either hypothesis. The SB29 coach, however, said “we feel at home in Guingamp”.
Tuesday evening in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven, 15,778 spectators were present at Roudourou.
