Former United star and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville commented that Mount looked ‘demorialised’ as he left the pitch with an indication of the player knowing the issue is a concern.
Mount walking off the pitch could be viewed as a positive but Amorim is expected to offer an update on his fitness at full-time.
Mason Mount’s Man United injury record
Mount has endured constant injury problems since joining United at the start of the 2023/24 season. He missed a total of 27 games last season with two calf injuries.
His start to the 2024/25 campaign has been disrupted, with three games missed due to a hamstring issue, under former boss Erik ten Hag.
Mount has featured in all seven of Amorim’s games in charge, since his arrival in November, with three starts – but the early indicators hint at him missing the remainder of 2024.
