It did not become KRC Genk’s Sunday. The A-team rightly lost against Club Brugge, but the youngsters were also unable to gain any points. It lost at home to Stijn Stijnen’s Patro Eisden.
Jong Genk is having a difficult season in the Challenger Pro League and it has not gotten any better. However, the match started well for the young Genkies, who took the lead early on at 1-0 after a brilliant free kick from Thomas Claes.
However, Patro captain Jordan Renson then stood up and helped Patro win. Before half time he was able to make it 1-1 and after half time he made it a hat trick. Thanks to two corners, two more goals were scored and the score became 1-3.
With that victory, Patro jumps to third place in the rankings and is seven points behind leader Zulte Waregem. Jong Genk remains stuck in last place in the standings.
