The Old House, in Effingham Road, Copthorne was treated by a visit from the prestigious actress on Wednesday lunchtime.
According to Lewes from The Old House, the Oscar-winner was visiting the pub with friends as part of her ninetieth birthday celebrations.
The actress, who has appeared in many popular movies such as James Bond, was said to have had customers’ heads turning.

Lewes described the moment as ‘special’:
“She was the loveliest person you could meet.”
He explained how the star requested to speak with the chef to share how wonderful her meal was.
Chef, Piotr, was then also lucky enough to grab a photograph with the star.
Considered one of Britain’s greatest actresses, Dame Judi’s awards cabinet includes a Tony Award, two Golden Globe Awards, four British Academy Television Awards, six British Academy Film Awards, and seven Olivier Awards.
She also won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love.
