four people died including an infant

It's a dramatic accident that occurs just before the holidays. The shock occurred this Saturday, around 1:55 p.m., on the RN19, just after the Frotey-lès-Vesoul radar.

Four people killed instantly

Three vehicles were traveling in single file in the Lure-Vesoul direction when the first of them collided head-on with the heavy goods vehicle arriving from Vesoul. Four people, including two men, a woman and an infant aged just four months, died instantly.

Four other people, slightly injured, were transported to Vesoul hospital.

More than an hour to extricate the victims

According to initial information, the Audi A3 car, first in the line of three cars, had been zigzagging for a while when it suddenly veered to the left. The heavy goods vehicle, registered in Poland, also deported without being able to avoid it. The car hit the truck head-on.

It took more than an hour to extricate all the victims, who are of Sudanese nationality and live in Noidans-lès-Vesoul.

Interrupted traffic

On site, significant resources were deployed on the fire side and the police stopped traffic from 2:30 p.m. The RN 19 was reopened to traffic at the end of the afternoon.

The operations were led by Lieutenant Denis Laprévote on the fire side, and Major Brady on the police side.

The mayor of Frotey-lès-Vesoul, Christophe Tary, and the departmental councilor Benoît Thomassin were also on the scene.
