This Saturday, December 14, the election of Miss France 2025 could still start with a little surprise which will add a little spice from the outset to this sometimes somewhat boring competition. Before the 30 regional candidates parade on the Futuroscope stage, in the hope of succeeding Eve Gilles, another star of the evening could play the humor card and send a message to those who already have it buried.
Jean-Pierre Foucault, present since 1994 to orchestrate the show, will indeed begin his 30th Miss France competition, at 77 years old. The historic presenter of TF1, who has distanced himself from the small screen in recent years, could not resist the call of the misses, as he explained again in the media this week. To mark this jubilee, he certainly has a new sensational entry in store.
Two years ago, Jean-Pierre Foucault appeared in a very exuberant Elton John outfit, including glittery glasses, pink boa and white top hat, in front of a piano, while the veteran of British music was in the middle of a tour farewell across the world. Last year, the host launched the ceremony in his pajamas, from his sofa! Pretending to have forgotten his role as presenter and having fun waiting in front of his television to discover the face of the “little young person” who would replace him, Jean-Pierre Foucault amused the gallery with a clothing choice and daring decor.
But this staging, far from being innocuous, also seemed to send a subtle message. As the somewhat rustic apartment transformed into a packed house of more than 8,000 spectators, Foucault gave a piquant response to recurring speculation about the end of his career.
Questioned by Télé Cable Sat before this 2024 competition, Jean-Pierre Foucault said it again: “It's been ten years that people have been saying that I'm going to stop. I'm going to stop one day, but it's not not one rumor or comment is going to make me leave.” And the host added: “We reached an agreement with TF1. For the moment I continue… I remember my first Miss France ceremony, in Lille, in 1994. I was far from 'Imagine that I would still be here, thirty years later.'
Original disguise, offbeat staging… For her 30th anniversary as Miss France, will the master of ceremonies still manage to impress the gallery? We bet that the occasion is perfect to celebrate the exceptional longevity of this beauty contest and its presenter, soon to be in his eighties, but still just as mischievous.
