The Professional Fighters League, better known as the PFL, is making its comeback in France with the PFL Europe Championship in Lyon. This is the very first time that the organization has taken place in the Rhône, which is why it is a historic event. The PFL is a growing MMA organization. She is becoming a serious contender in the UFC, especially after signing superstars like Francis Ngannou and Cédric Doumbé. The PFL is an American MMA league that offers a regular season and playoffs. 10 fighters from each weight category compete for the title throughout the year. The fights on the preliminary card begin at 5 p.m., while those on the main card should begin around 8 p.m.
The PFL Lyon event, a growing organization
The PFL Europe Championship Lyon card promises to be particularly dense. Headlining this event, Abdou “Lazy King” Abdouraguimov (18-1) faces Argentina's Laureano “Pepi” Staropoli (13-6) in the main welterweight bout. The co-main event of PFL Lyon highlights the Belgian phenomenon Patrick “The Belgian Bomber” Habirora (4-0) who faces the Swiss Catalin Safta (5-2) in the same category. The third big fight of the PFL Lyon 2024 evening is a clash between Mickaël Groguhe, back in the PFL SmartCage, and Lamine Sene, in a clash in the heavyweight category. If Cédric Doumbé was initially scheduled to fight in the octagon, he will ultimately have a completely different role to play this weekend.
