After 94 editions, a woman over 30 years old will participate for the first time in the Miss France election, in this case Miss Martinique. At 34, Angélique Angarni-Filopon is, in fact, one of the 30 candidates aiming to succeed Ève Gilles, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais crowned Miss France in 2024.
For the past two years (only), there has been no age limit for showing up (previously 24 years maximum) and there will be five of them over 25 this Saturday evening in Poitiers. “When the age limit was lifted, I decided to try my luck again,” declared Angélique Angarni-Filopon during the presentation press conference on November 15. In 2011, the woman who works as a flight attendant was elected first runner-up to Miss Martinique.
Note that, for two years, the competition has also been open to married women, mothers and transgender women “with change of marital status”.

2 Will a region win its first title?
Île-de-France leads the most successful regions with 16 crowns since 1920, but several regions have yet to win any titles. Among those which have a representative this year are Martinique, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, Limousin, Auvergne and Champagne-Ardenne.
As a reminder, there will be no Miss New Caledonia this Saturday evening in Poitiers, where the ceremony is taking place, the regional election having been canceled this year due to tensions on the archipelago for several months.

4 Did the Telegram voters get it right?
Like every year, Le Télégramme offered to vote for their favorite Miss among the 30 candidates in the running, this Saturday evening. And, like every year, Miss Brittany was favored by Internet users. With 1,030 votes, Marie Castel is ahead of Miss Île-de-France (Julie Dupont, 485 votes) and Miss Auvergne (Romane Agostinho, 387 votes).
Behind their understanding “chauvinism”, Telegram Internet users are often right, or almost right. With 3,257 votes, Noémie Le Bras came first last year, ahead of Karla Bchir (Côte d'Azur, 1,216 votes) and Ève Gilles (Nord-Pas-de-Calais, 1,180), crowned Miss France. The previous year, Guadeloupean Indira Ampiot, elected Miss France 2023,
had finished just behind Breton Enora Moal
. Internet users had also placed the future Miss France 2022,
Diane Leyre (Île-de-France), in fourth position
and the future Miss France 2021,
Amandine Petit (Normandy), in second place

8 Does ChatGPT have the right podium?
When we ask ChatGPT to find out the podium it predicts, the AI highlights Guadeloupean Moïra André, who would have “a 68% chance of winning the title, thanks to a very active and engaged community since her election regional”.
Miss Rhône-Alpes, Alexcia Couly, also appears on the podium. “Sylvie Tellier, former general director of the Miss France company, expressed her preference for this candidate, emphasizing that “Lyon has been waiting for this for 23 years””, points out the IA, which does not specify that Sylvie Tellier had been elected Miss Lyon in 2001 before becoming Miss France the same year.
Last candidate cited for the leading trio, Laura-Marie Marque Brugerolle, Miss Aquitaine. ChatGPT underlines that “the editorial staff of the Journal des Femmes designated her as their favorite, noting that she “surpasses all the others””.
The IA specifies, however, that it is “important to note that these predictions remain subjective and that the final result will depend on the performances of the candidates during the ceremony”. Of course…
