La France insoumise will vote to censure the new Prime Minister, François Bayrou, as announced by Mathilde Panot. “One more candidacy for Emmanuel Macron’s reprieve,” the head of the rebellious deputies wrote on X.

“Two clear choices are available to the country: the continuity of the policies of misfortune with François Bayrou or the rupture. Two choices will be offered to the deputies: support for the rescue of Macron or censorship. We have made ours”, – she added.

“It’s a new arm of honor for democracy,” criticized Manuel Bompard, national coordinator of the party.

No censorship of the RN “a priori”

While the Barnier government was overthrown on December 4 by a motion of censure tabled by the left united and supported by the RN, the president of the far-right party Jordan Bardella affirmed that “there will be no no a priori censorship” from his party.

However, Jordan Bardella assured that the “red lines” of the RN, which led its deputies to vote for the censure of Michel Barnier the previous week, remain. “No reimbursement of medicines, do not weaken the economic and social situation of retirees,” he explained.

The president of the RN also affirmed that François Bayrou “does not have democratic legitimacy nor a majority in the National Assembly, which therefore requires a necessary dialogue with all the forces represented in Parliament”.
