François Cluzet's cinema career is well established. At 69 years old, his filmography arouses admiration but it is not only on film that the actor makes his mark. Guest of the show C to you on France 5 on December 12, he came to talk about his work for the theater that he had neglected for a quarter of a century. At the Porte Saint-Martin theater, he plays a therapist and essayist in Another divine day. Picking up on this news, journalist Patrick Cohen found in the archives another one of his theatrical performances which dates back to the early 1990s.
In 1991, François Cluzet played opposite Marie Trintignant in the play It's not just dogs who love each other. More than collaborators, they were at that time a couple since their meeting on the film A Matter of Women by Claude Chabrol. In front of the C à vous cameras, he returned to the genesis of their show: “We lived together and we no longer wanted to work. We wanted to live this love story, we did it for four years, it was really wonderful. We had relative confidence in ourselves to think that it would start again one day and we said to ourselves: 'what if we wrote something and then', we started to get caught up in the carpet, that was something. That is to say, between what we imagined and what we asked our friends to come and give as advice, everything was changed and we found ourselves in something impossible.“
François Cluzet and Marie Trintignant, a close couple in an idyllic setting
François Cluzet has a son with Marie Trintignant, Paul, born in 1993. Their relationship has not stood the test of time and he detailed its flaws in an interview with Paris Match. An encounter made at a time in his life when he was prey to the demon of alcohol. It was therefore at this moment in his life that he met Marie Trintignant, who died on August 1, 2003 six days after being hit by her companion Bertrand Cantat: “I lived with Marie for five years, including three years in the South where I decided to stop working. We bought a house in Uzès and had our son, Paulin 1992. These three years were idyllic until I shot 'L'enfer' by Chabrol. This episode marked a rupture in our relationship. Perhaps also that the gamble had been too strong to isolate ourselves so much to live our story.” But he offered an unforgettable scene in the film The Apprentices by Pierre Salvadori with Guillaume Depardieu, the actress who died in 2003 appearing at the end of the film and bringing a smile back to the character played by François Cluzet.
Previously, the actor won a Caesar for Guillaume Canet's film Don't tell anyone had a daughter Blancheborn in 1984, with screenwriter then producer Chantal Perrin. After his breakup with Marie Trintignant, he lived for thirteen years with the actress Valérie Bonneton, mother of his children. Joseph (2001) et Marguerite (2006). Since 2011, he has been married to Narjiss Slaoui-Falcoz, former communications director at the InterContinental Carlton in Cannes.
