Michel Sardou continues to observe France, political news… and has a clear opinion on the situation. Questioned by Nathalie Renoux during a exclusive interview broadcast this Friday, December 13 in the 12.45 of M6, the French singer explains that if he had to write a song about the current situation in his country, “it would not be tender”.
“France today…, I preferred mine, underlines the artist. As always, we always prefer our youth. When we say 'it was better before', that's bullshit. It was our youth that was better before,” he explains. “But now… I'm a little lost, I don't know what I would write. I might like the messy side.”
It must be said that France is going through a period of unprecedented political instability. With the dissolution decided by Emmanuel Macron, a new assembly divided into three blocs, without a majority and the recent censorship of the Barnier government, uncertainty reigns.
“Yes, ultimately it’s good for his face,” says Michel Sardou. “It’s us who wanted that, but we’ve been like that since Julius Caesar. If he returned to Gaulle so easily, it’s because they [les Gaulois] couldn't prank each other. So, what do we have today? We don't have Caesar…”, he concluded with a hint of a smile.
