Further snowfall is expected in the coming hours in Drôme and Ardèche. “Disturbances are coming up from the South and will encounter cold air,” explains Rémi Voirin, forecaster at Météo-France. “The yellow alert for snow and ice was activated at 10 a.m. this Friday morning. It will be lifted at midnight in Ardèche and at 3 a.m., Saturday, in Drôme.”
The first snowfall should be observed at midday this Friday, December 13. “From 1,000 meters of altitude in the Ardèche Cévennes, and from 700/800 m on the other reliefs of the department. A very thin layer is expected at 800 m; 5 to 10 cm from 1,000 m, and 10 to 15 cm from 1,200 m. The highest intensities are expected from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with up to 3 cm per hour from 1,000m,” explains Rémi Voirin.
In Drôme, Vercors and Diois will be affected by this snowfall. The forecaster specifies: “From 1 to 2 cm from 800 m; 5 cm from 1,000 m, and 10 to 15 cm from 1,400 m.
