“It’s scandalous!” : Véronique Genest denounces the closure of C8 (VIDEO)

This Thursday, December 12 Véronique Genest was invited on the set of the talk show At Jordan's to look back on his career. Questioned by the host on the upcoming closure of C8, the actress reacted strongly to the decision of Arcom which announced at the end of its Commission of Inquiry, the non-renewal of the frequency of the channel of the TNT.

Véronique Genest reacts to the closure of C8: “I think that’s stupid!”

“I find it scandalous, very sincerely” began the interpreter of Julie Lescaut,”because it puts a lot of people out of work and the replacement proposals are ridiculous. They are not of much interest at the moment. Ultimately if there were proposals that rivaled C8, that would perhaps be interesting but for the moment apparently there isn't much, so I find it stupid!” she believes without filter.

And continue “and above all what I find aberrant is that they refused to file an appeal from C8, because the investigation would not be completed and it was not the time to file it… So in fact if all these things happen too late, all these people have to leave C8 to find another job? What will happen to them?” she asks. “I don't see how C8 bothers Arcom? They might as well punish one show, but why punish an entire channel? It looks a bit like a witch hunt” regrets the actress.

“Cyril Hanouna is a whole character so I respect him”

Véronique Genest also took the opportunity to send a message to Cyril Hanounaand him to show his friendship “I really like Cyril. I don't necessarily watch TPMP because it's not my thing, but I can understand that people like his show, I don't find it bad on Europe 1. He's someone who is a bit outspoken like me, and that he is certainly not someone extreme in one way or the other. He loves everyone and he can't stand people attacking the things he believes in and he defends them. He's a whole character so I respect him.” she concluded.

Which channels to replace C8 and NRJ 12?

Following Arcom's decision, C8 and NRJ12 will stop broadcasting in February 2025, two new channels will replace them, these are OFTV and of Real TV which should land on TNT from March 1, 2025. The first will be the Ouest-France chainthe famous newspaper founded in 1944 and published in Rennes. As for RéelsTV, this is the channel project proposed by CMI France, the group of Daniel Kretinsky (Télé 7 Jours, Elle, Ici Paris…) which wishes to illustrate the public debate on the air with documentaries as well as current and cultural programs. For the moment the numbering of these two new channels on TNT has still not been announced.
