On promotion for his new play Another divine day, François Cluzet went to the set of C to you this Thursday, December 12. The actor took the opportunity to discuss his relationship and collaboration with Marie Trintignant.
From January 25, François Cluzet will be back on stage for the play Another divine day at the Les Bouffons Parisiens theater. It had been twenty-five years since he had last tasted theater to concentrate on cinema.
“I started with theater and there is something sacred, which gives you stage fright, a terrible apprehension”he said when he arrived on the set of C to you this Thursday, December 12. In this play, he plays Robert, a psychiatrist himself interned in an establishment who still intends to save the world and people. He is both a mythomaniac and an idealist.
François Cluzet looks back on his collaboration with Marie Trintignant
François Cluzet was romantically and professionally linked to Marie Trintignant. A little over thirty years ago, they staged and performed the play It's not just dogs who love each other that they played in Nice.
After the broadcast of an extract, François Cluzet spoke of his ex-partner with emotion even if the project did not work. “We lived together with Marie Trintignant, we no longer wanted to work,” he recalled. “We wanted to live this love story and we did it for four years. It was really wonderful “he added.
A laborious joint project
But their feelings and motivation did not allow this project to be carried out as they would have liked. “We had relative confidence in ourselves. We thought it would start again one day. And then suddenly we said to ourselves, what if we wrote something. And then we got tripped up, it was something…”, says the star ofUntouchables.
Indeed, there was a gap between the feedback from their friends and the final result. “We found ourselves in something impossible (…) A friend told us in any case you will have done it”, he concluded, not without humor. Moreover, it was Marie Trintignant who found the title of the piece. It will remain a nice memory despite everything.
