Google recently released Gemini Flash 2.0, making it available on both the customer-facing Gemini tool and AI Studio. During the day, this new model selection started appearing in a drop-down menu for some users, labeled as “experimental” on the customer-facing Gemini platform. Users noted that it works very fast and provides high-quality responses.
This model only allows images as input but can also access tools like those for image generation or work with and generate code. According to documentation, it supports a 1 million token context window, making it highly capable for extensive tasks.
In terms of performance, Gemini Flash 2.0 significantly outperformed Gemini 1.5 Pro in benchmarks. Additionally, it delivered excellent results on SWE Bench, surpassing the current leader, Cloude Sonnet 3.5 by Anthropic.
Later in the day, this model also appeared on AI Studio with the same experimental label. Today, Google announced many updates, and the release of Gemini Flash 2.0 was a significant part of them.
