The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana are in Germany for a monster UEFA Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund, and Hansi Flick has called up the following 23 players for Wednesday’s clash:
Goalkeepers: 13. Iñaki Peña, 25. Wojciech Szczesny, 26. Ander Astraga
Defenders: 2. Pau Cubarsí, 3. Alejandro Balde, 4. Ronald Araujo, 5. Iñigo Martínez, 23. Jules Kounde, 24. Eric García, 32. Héctor Fort, 35. Gerard Martín
Midfielders: 6. Gavi, 8. Pedri, 14. Pablo Torre, 16. Fermín López, 17. Marc Casadó, 20. Dani Olmo, 21. Frenkie de Jong
Forwards: 7. Ferran Torres, 9. Robert Lewandowski, 11. Raphinha, 18. Pau Víctor, 19. Lamine Yamal
The huge news for this one is the long-awaited return of Ronald Araujo, who is named in the squad for the first time this season after missing almost six months due to a hamstring injury. The Uruguayan likely won’t feature in this one, but having his name on the list alone is a welcome piece of good news. As for the absences, Marc-André ter Stegen (knee), Ansu Fati (hamstring), Andreas Christensen (Achilles) and Marc Bernal (knee) continue to miss out due to injury.
Predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1):
Peña; Kounde, Cubarsí, Iñigo, Balde; Casado, Pedri; Yamal, Olmo, Raphinha; Lewandowski
The match kicks off at 9pm CET/WAT (Barcelona & Nigeria), 8pm GMT (UK), 3pm ET, 12pm PT (USA), 1.30am IST (India, Thursday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
LONG LIVE THE BARÇA!
