Victory in pain: harsh verdict ahead for Brandon Mechele? – All football

FC Bruges won this Tuesday against Sporting Lisbon and therefore almost assured their place in the top 24 of the Champions League. But this was not done without difficulty.

The duel against Sporting was a battle from start to finish, with Casper Nielsen’s winning goal falling in the 84th minute of a thrilling encounter. With these 3 points, Bruges is almost assured of the top 24 in the Champions League, a great achievement.

But the Gazelles also finished the meeting with damage in their ranks. Christos Tzolis, in particular, had to play with a bandage on his head and was replaced by Nicky Hayen as a precaution, although he is expected to escape without injury.

Brandon Mechelehe finished the meeting… but took a big blow to the nose, and bled profusely. The Nieuwsblad now reveals that the verdict could be severe for the central defender of the Blue & Black.

Mechele is said to have broken his nose during a collision with an opposing player. Enough to respect the motto of FC Bruges: “Blood, sweat & tears”, even if the tears were ultimately of joy after the Club’s victory.

Brandon Mechele should therefore go to the pool table to undergo minor nose surgery; if he plays this Sunday against Racing Genk, it should inevitably be with a mask.
