Harder, better, faster, stronger…
“We do not want to be only ‘cheaper’, but also ‘better’ and ‘faster’”, continues the CEO, before revealing the prices.
Here are the main points:
– Mobile subscription :
– > 5 euros per month for 15 Gbps. With unlimited calls and SMS. Lack of data? No problem, Digi offers the additional giga for 0.60 euros. A trifle. “It’s much more than 10% cheaper than our competitors,” smiles the CEO again.
Note that to begin with, Digi will offer 4G, since the operator has signed a partnership with Proximus to be active on mobile and does not yet own its own network. Proximus obviously had no interest in giving it access to its “premium” 5G network. Digi should set up its network in the next five years and will recover part of the antennas of the Proximus network. The director of Ericsson Belux, Fabrice Sancho, was also present during the launch and confirms: it is indeed Ericsson which will supply Digi’s antennas. Around 5,000 antennas are expected to be deployed.
– Fixed subscriptions:
– > Fiber Essentials : offer with a connection speed of 500 Mbps at 10 euros per month.
– > Fiber Max : offer with connection speed of 1 Gbps at 15 euros per month.
– > Fiber Ultimate : offer with connection speed of 10 Gbps at 20 euros per month.
– TV offer :
–> Not yet revealed, but the CEO says it should soon, with a classic TV app to compete with Proximus, Orange and Telenet.
First broken promise for the new operator Digi, forced to delay its launch: “We had some problems in Brussels”
“No price increase”
Finally, as a reminder, Digi Belgium, born from a joint venture between the Romanian low-cost operator Digi and the Belgian Citymesh (B2B network specialist), currently employs around 300 people, some of whom are freelance. “500 even on busy days”, as with the installation of fiber in large cities. The manager does not hide that they will continue to deploy their physical networks, “the only possibility to be able to offer this kind of price”, he explains.
“We will not have an automatic price increase, we prefer to have more customers than the same number by raising prices. And yes, it is an introductory offer… we hope to offer better later!” he exclaims.
“No forced packs, no promotions, our prices are the most attractive,” he finishes, extremely confident, hoping to be able to connect 2 million homes in the next five years.
