The third part of the postapocalyptic saga, which made Cillian Murphy famous, is revealed in a terrifying trailer. “28 Years Later” is scheduled for release in June 2025.
In 2002, the public discovered Cillian Murphy in the role of Jim, this courier who tries to survive in a postapocalyptic world where a fearsome epidemic transforms the population into bloodthirsty creatures. The movie 28 days later forever marks horror cinema. The film team then said they were surprised by this “phenomenal success.” A second part is then put on track: 28 weeks later was released in 2007, but this time without director Danny Boyle, screenwriter Alex Garland or Cillian Murphy.
In a few months, fans of the saga will be able to discover the highly anticipated third part. The two original creators will once again be at the helm. The Irish actor will also make his return. The director had however warned: Cillian Murphy will be there, but “surprising way”. We understand better by watching the trailer for 28 years laterWho has just been revealed.
You have to be particularly attentive if you want to see the Oscar-winning actor for his role in Oppenheimer. He only appears at the end of the trailer, and you still have to be able to recognize him. Indeed, Cillian Murphy does not seem to be in great shape: the actor was infected and turned into a zombie.
This third part already promises great thrills. “It started 10,228 days ago. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into years.” The trailer suggests that the “rabies virus” has been raging in England for 28 years. The soldiers must kill all the infected people. We also see a young boy trying to find his mother in an environment nightmarish.
The lead role is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, alongside Jodie Comer and Jack O’Connell. The exit of film, which has the particularity of being shot entirely on a smartphone, is scheduled for June 2025.
