Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has fled his country after losing support from Russia. Future American President Donald Trump reports this on his social media platform Truth Social.
“Assad is no more. He fled his country. His protector, Russia, Russia, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, no longer wanted to protect him,” said Trump, who claims that Russia has lost interest in Syria because of the war in Ukraine. Nearly 600,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or injured in the war in Ukraine, which Trump said “should never have started and could last forever.”
Trump calls for an “immediate ceasefire” and negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine. “Too many lives have been needlessly lost, too many families have been destroyed. And if this continues, it could spiral into something much bigger and much worse.”
