105 tenants in Zurich have to move out due to renovation. Between 200 and 300 people are affected.
They live at Neugasse 81, 83 and 85 in Zurich. However, in the X-ray area right next to the tracks there are six more of the same colorful apartment blocks, known as Sugus houses.
Are the tenants there now threatened with the same thing? Will the announced total renovation only happen in installments?
There is no termination in the other six houses
No, Simo Immobilien GmbH reassures on its website. “We would like to provide clarity in this regard for the tenants of the houses Neugasse 87 to 99,” says the statement. “The two owners of the seven remaining houses at Neugasse 87 to 99 have assured us that they want to maintain the quality of living and affordability unchanged.”

In the spirit of the ethos of Leopold Bachmann, who created “affordable living space for families and people of all ages”, the aim is to hold on to the tenants and support them “in a city and a country in which far too little of it is built and maintained”. convey security to the promise.
Who are the Bachmann heirs?
Behind the entire development is the builder Leopold Bachmann, who built and rented out cheaply, a lot and, above all, inexpensively. The man died in 2021. The houses initially belonged to a community of heirs. Because Leopold Bachmann has two sons and two daughters (another daughter died in 2017).
And now the division of the inheritance has been completed. As 20 Minutes already reported, Regina Bachmann received sole ownership of three of nine blocks on November 26, 2024, eight days ago. Six days later, the tenants were given notice of termination.
“I’m deeply sorry for what happened.”
Three blocks remain in the possession of her brother Andreas Bachmann, three in the possession of Sigmund Bachmann. The latter is also the managing director of Simo Immobilien GmbH, together with his son. Regina Bachmann has turned away from Simo Immobilien GmbH; another administration, Allgood Property AG, is now doing the difficult work for her.
Meanwhile, the other sister and youngest Leopold Bachmann daughter has nothing to do with Neugasse – she received other properties when the inheritance was divided.
The brothers Sigmund and Andreas have already announced in their statement on the website that they will remain loyal to the Leopold Bachmann ideology. The flower makes it clear that they do not support Regina Bachmann’s strategy. The youngest sister, Manuela Bachmann, now says a little more clearly after 20 minutes: “I’m deeply sorry for what happened. That’s definitely not what my father wanted.”
