In contrast to other major tournaments, there is, as always, no group phase in the DFB Cup 24/25. Both the main rounds and the finals follow the knockout system. The DFB Cup 24/25 on free TV and stream
The broadcast of the DFB Cup 2024/25 will be shared Sky, ARD and ZDF. All 63 games from the first round to the final in Berlin will be played at Sky shown live on TV. However, you have to take out a paid subscription to do this. The Sky Sports subscription currently costs 25 euros per month for new customers. The package not only includes the broadcast of the DFB Cup, games from the Premier League and the DFB Women’s Cup are also included. However, if you don’t want to take out a paid subscription, you can also watch the DFB Cup on free TV. From the 2022/23 season to the 2025/26 season, the public broadcasters have secured the broadcast rights for 15 games per season. ARD and ZDF share the broadcast of the individual games. The agreement also includes extensive post-exploitation rights. So you can also expect match reports.
DFB Cup 24/25 on free TV: broadcast and TV dates at a glance
All 63 games can be played at Sky can be followed live on TV and stream. It is not yet completely clear which 15 games will be broadcast on free TV. The only thing that is certain is that there will be four games in the first round as well as both semi-finals and the final ARD/ZDF be shown. According to the current 2024/25 schedule, the semi-finals are scheduled for April 1st and 2nd, 2025. The final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2025. In principle, every team in Germany can qualify for the tournament – theoretically even a district league team. The DFB Cup 24/25 schedule will be drawn after each round until the semi-finals. The teams from the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga are automatically seeded for the competition. The first four teams from the 3rd Bundesliga are also there.
