The two motions were tabled Monday, December 2 by the two groups. In that of the NFP, presented by the presidents of the four groups which make up this alliance, only a few names are missing from the signature. Seven, more precisely: the socialists Gérard Leseul, Sophie Pantel, Dominique Potier, Valérie Rossi and Hervé Saulignac, as well as Yannick Monnet and Emmanuel Tjibaou (first Kanak independence MP since 1986), from the Democratic and Republican Left (GDR) group.

In addition to having announced that it would vote for the NFP, the party should vote as one for its own motion of censure, presented by Marine Le Pen and Éric Ciotti, president of the Union of Rights for the Republic (UDR) group. and ally of the far-right party. All of their deputies signed the motion.
By adding their votes (140) to those of the NFP deputies (192), we reach 332 votes in favor of censure. Largely enough for the absolute majority (289 deputies) which would bring down the government.
And this, even without the votes of the Liot deputies, who announced that they would not vote for any of the motions. The seven non-signatory deputies will therefore have little weight in the balance. And will not be enough to save Michel Barnier whose hours at Matignon are perhaps numbered.
