There is bitter news from Teresa Runggaldier, who has been training at Copper Mountain in the last few days and was scheduled for the World Cup downhill and a super-G on December 14th and 15th in Beaver Creek. But that didn’t happen because the Val Gardena native suffered a serious knee injury during training.

Runggaldier tore his cruciate ligament in a fall and also broke the tibial plateau in his right knee. For the 25-year-old, the season is over before it begins. Runggaldier is already on her way back home, where she will be further examined by doctors from the Italian winter sports association FISI.

Runggaldier made her breakthrough in the World Cup last year and achieved her best placings in Crans Montana (11th/Downhill) and Kvitfjell (13th/Super-G).
