“He said that?!” : Apolline de Malherbe stunned by her guest's indiscretion about Michel Barnier

This Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Apolline de Malherbe was present on the BFMTV set to host the Face-à-Face. This day, the journalist then received Olivier Faure, first secretary of the Socialist Party, came to comment on the possibility of seeing Michel Barnier leave the government.

“We are at the dawn of a few days of historic crisis with this censorship filed. You dreamed of bringing down the Prime Minister, it’s Marine Le Pen who did it, thank you Marine?”then immediately says the journalist, who is ready to fight. “You are bloated”Olivier Faure then replies, somewhat exasperated by this introduction.

Olivier Faure balances on Michel Barnier

But for Apolline de Malherbe the observation is there : “Well no, you could have gone out of your way, you wouldn’t have succeeded if she didn’t come to your rescue”she says. For Olivier Faure, the situation is quite different: “The reality is that we sought, in two months, to negotiate with the Prime Minister, we sought to make proposals, to tell him that there was another possible path, and the Prime Minister did not extended a hand only to Marine Le Pen”castigates the politician.

For Olivier Faure, “the only one with whom he entered into dialogue, even to the point of accepting it in a press release yesterday, and ultimately he did not succeed… The truth, “he never tried to discuss with us”.

Apolline de Malherbe totally shocked

And now the first secretary of the PS makes a rather astonishing confession about Michel Barnier: “He received our two group presidents last week, what did he say to them?
'I am a prisoner of my common base and therefore I cannot concede anything to you'”
,
he confides.

What to leave
speechless Apolline de Malherbe:
“He said that? He said the word 'prisoner?'” she asks. “He said that”confirms Olivier Faure. “He admitted to being a prisoner…”
the journalist asks again. And in fact, according to the words of his guest, the Prime Minister “recognized as being a prisoner of its common base”. Statements which stunned the journalist who had to have her guest repeat several times.
