The host of L'Amour est dans le pré denounced government inaction towards farmers during the last episode of the season. On Instagram, she proposes a petition to mobilize consumers and demand increased support from the industry and hypermarkets.
French farmers, in full mobilization against Mercosur and for food sovereignty, can count on the support of a well-known spokesperson in the person of Karine Le Marchand. The emblematic host of L'Amour est dans le pré took advantage of the last episode of the season, broadcast Monday December 2 in the evening, to express in a video, posted on her Instagram account, her indignation at what she considers to be a lack of support for farmers.
During her intervention, she pointed out the inaction of the authorities: “There are very few measures that have been implemented over the past year, they are only measures. The promises were not kept »she declared, before concluding, scathingly: “We have to stop believing politicians. »
Far from simply denouncing, Karine Le Marchand wants to take action. She announced to her followers that she was considering starting a petition. “I think change can come from the industry, but especially from hypermarkets. I need the support of the French to ask lots of things from the big stores. »
A renewed commitment for farmers still struggling
This is not the first time that Karine Le Marchand has shown her support for the agricultural cause. Already last January, she joined a blocking point in Seine-et-Marne to denounce the delays in the application of the Egalim law, which was to guarantee better remuneration for farmers. This time, she hopes to mobilize consumers to put pressure on supermarkets and the food industry. The presenter emphasizes the impact that sales in hypermarkets can have: “I talk to a lot of farmers, and I know this can change everything. Today's promotions are the death of tomorrow's fridge. »
Meanwhile, farmers continue their mobilizations. Since November, they have expressed their fears for France's food sovereignty and denounced the free trade agreement with Mercosur, deemed harmful for local farms. At the call of the FNSEA, new blockages are planned December 9 and 10. With this petition, Karine Le Marchand hopes to amplify their voice and remind consumers that their support is essential: “I will detail all my ideas to you. I need you to make things happen. »
