Rédoine Faïd remains in solitary confinement in Vendin-le-Vieil prison (Pas-de-) after a decision by the Sentence Enforcement Chamber of , Bleu reported Monday, December 2. Rédoine Faïd's lawyer, Benoît David, has already announced that he is filing a cassation appeal.

The magistrates of the Douai Sentencing Chamber are therefore not following the decision of a sentencing judge from the Béthune court who had asked to end the isolation of the repeat robber. The latter considered that Rédoine Faïd was detained in conditions “contrary to the dignity of the human person”. The Béthune public prosecutor's office appealed this decision.

Seized after the appeal from the Béthune public prosecutor's office, the magistrates consider that this detention regime is not unworthy. France Bleu Nord also indicates that avenues for improving the detention of the robber – who spent 13 years in solitary confinement – are underway with the director of the penitentiary center. The end date of Rédoine Faïd's sentence, convicted for his escape from Réau prison in 2018, is currently set at 2057.
