Major construction sites, Lorie concert and insomnia: Hello !

Hello everyone! How are you this Monday, December 2, 2024? We hope that you start this day with a little chocolate straight out of your Advent calendar: you need at least that to get back into it. Except for Lorie, French pop star from the early 2000s, who is clearly above it. “I'm going fast,” breathes the singer, who will be in concert in Plougastel-Daoulas in October 2025. And we will surely have to follow her example to be able to get tickets, on sale this Monday at 8 p.m.

Coincidence of the calendar or cosmic evidence, this December 2 also marks the birthday of the American Lorie Pester, I named… Britney Spears. This iconic singer, who is celebrating her 43rd birthday, recently regained control of her life, after living under the tutelage of her father. We also wish a happy birthday to Philippe Etchebest, member of the group Chef & the Gang and, incidentally, renowned chef.

Today is also International Samba Day. But if you're looking more for sleep than partying, we're thinking of you too: insomnia and sleep disorders are on the menu for this new Health Monday, organized by the City and the University Hospital. The meeting is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the law school, in lecture halls 500 and 600, or remotely for those who cannot make it there.

Today's weather: hodgepodge

The sidewalks are wet, but precipitation should be light today in . The weather will be mild, with temperatures oscillating between 9 and 13°C, although gusts of up to 45 km/h can be expected this afternoon. At least the sun will be (a little) there. That says a lot for the future: “Clear weather at Sainte-Viviane, clear weather for forty days and a week”. And happy birthday Viviane! [La météo à Brest]

Traffic in real time: “Which route to take? I'm not sure »

Difficult to avoid traffic jams in Brest this Monday morning, particularly in the areas of Boulevard de l'Europe, Rue de la Porte and Rue de , as well as at the entrances to the city. There are already more than two kilometers of traffic jams at the Iroise bridge. As Lorie would say: “I move my…”, I drive the car. The route to take? I’m not sure.” Especially with all this work… [Voilà ce qui vous attend cette semaine]

The question: where are we with the major Brest projects?

It's difficult to ignore the work on the second tram line in Brest. But this is not the only ongoing project that promises to lastingly change the city. This era of major public works, which began around fifteen years ago, is far from over. [On fait le point sur les chantiers passés et à venir]

The sentence: “I am very moved to have taken this first step”

In Saint-Renan, the “Quinze”, a premises which welcomes patients suffering from cancer or rare diseases, has been full since its opening last April. In this still too rare place, offered by the cancer.bzh association, sick people find answers to everyday questions. [Le reportage et la vidéo de David Cormier]
