The date is finally known. It will be possible to book a free visit to Notre-Dame de Paris from Tuesday December 3, announces the diocese on the website dedicated to the monument. To register for a time slot, you will need to go to this site or download the dedicated application, called “Visit Companion”. The first visits to the cathedral will take place on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Several highly guarded ceremonies will take place in the restored cathedral, Saturday and Sunday, before its reopening to the public. Visitors will be able to admire the results of five years of work to restore the grandeur of Notre-Dame de Paris, devastated by a fire in 2019. First images of the interior of the building were revealed on Friday, during a visit of Emmanuel Macron.
Visiting the building will initially only be possible on an individual basis. From December 8 to 16, the cathedral will be open weekdays, from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and reduced hours on weekends (3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.). Its normal hours (7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.) will then be restored. The diocese of Paris expects 15 million visitors per year to the place of worship, a third more than before its closure.
