the A50 saturated, the processions set off from

A day of major disruption is expected on the main roads of Bouches-du-Rhône. As announced at the end of last week, dozens of taxis have just set off, as part of a snail operation.

This Monday, December 2, around 7 a.m., a first procession, particularly large, took the road from La Valentine, in , in a concert of horns. By taking the A50 motorway then the L2 ring road, it heads towards the A7 motorway, towards the Lançon-Provence tollbooth.

A traffic jam is underway on the A50 as we write these lines. The procession made a first stop, lighting smoke bombs. There are seven to eight kilometers of traffic jams in the -Marseille direction.

This procession will join another, which sets off from Grand Littoral at the same time. They will merge at the tunnel, which risks causing significant slowdowns around Marseille-Provence airport.

Around 8 a.m., a third procession must set off from the Plan-de-Campagne area, with a snail-like operation on the A51 and the A7.

A filter barrier must then be put in place throughout the day, at the Lançon-Provence toll, in both directions of traffic.

“Our margin risks disappearing”

We are demanding that the new agreement with Social Security be renegotiated and become more equitableexplains Yazid Ziani, president of the Union of Independent Taxis of (Utif) in Marseille. We already have a 25% reduction from her, and we are being asked to double it. It is our margin that risks disappearing. And 40,000 businesses risk going out of business.

According to the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture, processions of taxis must also leave from the La Barque toll, the Saint-Martin-de-Crau toll and the toll. “Actions in downtown Marseille could also take place“, with the risk of paralysis of road traffic in the Marseille city.
