We have seen many players fumble on the court during clutch minutes. Especially during the final few seconds, we can even find players making hilariously costly mistakes. But, tonight, we witnessed a coach, standing on the sidelines, making a costly error that handed the game away to a hungry team. The Utah Jazz’s star Collin Sexton had the moment to shine defeating the lethal LA Lakers at home but Jazz HC Will Hardy pulled off brain fader.
With 9 seconds on the clock, the Jazz were one point behind the Lakers and had the opportunity to win the game. The 7th-year guard, Collin Sexton, had the ball in his hand and Rui Hachimura all over him, but he managed to drive up the lane and drop a floater. Unfortunately, a second before he attempted the shot, Coach Hardy ran up to the refs and called the timeout, without realizing that Sexton had gone for the bucket.
The 25-year-old guard, along with the rest of the Jazz fans were visibly frustrated with the decision. However, whatever was done was done. Following that blunder, HC Hardy gave Colin Sexton another chance. This time, he had to take a shot from the perimeter over LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Christian Koloko with less than 2 seconds on the clock. Unfortunately, Sexton couldn’t even shoot the ball, as the Lakers’ trio was all over him and stole a much-needed win. Meanwhile, after the buzzer, he walked back to the locker room, hanging his head down. But, the fans behind the screen weren’t letting it slide easily.
