After making it successive winners late on in Almería on Saturday night, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the French Ligue 1, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Olympique de Marseille vs AS Monaco
???????? Ligue 1
⏰ Sunday 1 December, 19:45
Second meets third in Ligue 1 as rivals Marseille and Monaco face off at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday evening in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Roberto De Zerbi’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in Ligue 1 this term, slamming in 27 goals across their opening 12 matches, with six (22%) of them coming across their five home encounters.
Les Phoceens have found the back of the net in all bar two of their Ligue 1 contests – notching on multiple occasions in eight (67%) of them – and will look to trouble a Monaco backline that has registered a solitary shutout across their past eight Ligue 1 outings.
Adi Hutter’s visitors have scored 21 goals across their opening 12 Ligue 1 contests this campaign, with 11 (52%) of them coming across their five road trips.
Les Monegasques have hit the target in all bar two of their Ligue 1 encounters, firing two or more goals in seven (58%) of them – including in 4/5 (80%) of their road trips – and will look to add to their goal-tally against a vulnerable looking Marseille defence that has only kept two clean sheets in the French top flight this term, shipping 16 goals.
Before we get to our bet of the day involving Marseille and Monaco, we have two other offers from our partners for you to consider.
Liverpool vs Manchester City betting
Mo Salah is bumping his gums over the lack of a new deal at Anfield, but the Egyptian is certainly doing all he can on the pitch to boost his negotiating power. Salah has 12/13 goals from 18/19 appearances this season and is a decent 8/5 with Bet365 for another goal here.
Manchester City would be in even bigger trouble without the goals of Erling Haaland. A midweek double took the Norwegian’s tally for the season to 17 and he’s always worth backing when odds-against for a goal. Kwiff price the City talisman at 11/10 for anytime scorer here and those odds are pretty tempting. Even more tempting, though, is the 50/1 available for UK residents signing up to Parimatch prior to kick-off on Sunday. Full details right below.
Terms: 18+ New Customers Only. Opt in, bet max £1 on Mohamed Salah – Anytime Goalscorer – 90 Mins v Manchester City. Enhanced odds paid in Free Bets, expire in 7 days. Offer valid until 16:00 UK time on Sunday 01/12/2024. Click for T&Cs. GambleAware.org | Please gamble responsibly

If you switch over to Betano though, you can get 40/1 on your pick of either team to win. That’s right: sign up as a new customer, opt-in and place a £1 bet on Liverpool or Man City. You’ll get paid out in free bets if your bet wins. At the risk of stating the obvious, the value pick with that offer is Liverpool given their far shorter odds.
Terms: 18+ New customers only. Opt and bet £1 on Liverpool OR Manchester City – Match Betting – 90mins by 16:00 on 01.12.2024. Get Enhanced odds paid in Free Bets, which expire in 7 days after accreditation. Click for T&Cs. GambleAware.org. Please gamble responsibly

Now that we have let you in on these two Liverpool vs Manchester City betting offers, let’s return to our feature match between Marseille and Monaco…
Bet of the Day
Marseille’s opening 12 fixtures in Ligue 1 this season have averaged an eye-catching 3.58 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in nine (75%) of them – including in each of their past five – whilst eight (67%) have produced goals at both ends.
Monaco’s opening 12 Ligue 1 contests this term have averaged 2.58 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in seven of their past nine – including in each of their previous four on the road – whilst six of their last eight and seven of their previous 10 have produced goals at both ends.
What’s more, this fixture rarely fails to deliver goals, with the past 20 meetings averaging a staggering 4.1 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in an incredible 17 (85%) of them, whilst 16 (80%) featuring a minimum of three goals – with both meetings last season finishing 3-2 & 2-2 – and I’m hoping we see a similarly high-scoring encounter at the Velodrome on Sunday evening.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
- Pays 4/5 (Betway/Bet365)
