With great courage, the actress continues to fight against the disease, as she confided to Audrey Crespo-Mara this Sunday in “Sept à Eight”.

“Here I go again for the chemo that I went through a little over a year ago which requires hospitalization and I am going to lose my hair again”. It is with this bad news that actress Émilie Dequenne speaks with Audrey Crespo-Mara this Sunday, December 1st.

In 2023, Émilie Dequenne announces that she has a “rare, aggressive and extremely recurrent cancer which affects one or two people in a million per year worldwide and which attacks the adrenal glands”. “I did express oncology training this last year”quips the actress.

A therapeutic interview

“I was filming, I had a stomach ache, I was very tired and then a nightmare began. Weird blood test, mass on CT scan. I was terrified”she remembers before adding: “I felt like I was being given 6 months to come deep inside. I know I won't live as long as I expected. I'm only 43 years old. I always dreamed of living until I was 80 and falling asleep forever. That’s what I’m asking, I’m not asking for much.”.

She claims to have “confidence in medicine and extraordinary hospital staff”. The actress dares to make a wish: “I hope that research for my cancer will move forward”. Playing at the cinema, carefreeness “not to think about death” are terrible shortcomings felt by Émilie Dequenne who testifies to having to take “around thirty medications every day”.

“Talking about my illness is something I need because it is already extremely heavy and difficult to live with. We feel very alone. I am very well surrounded, but in suffering we feel extreme loneliness”. The interview broadcast this evening in “Sept à quatre” on TF1 proves therapeutic for the actress.
