It only took a few seconds for the evening to turn into drama. Last night, during the Christmas parade, it was almost 7 p.m. when a 9-meter-long float lay down on the crowd, as seen in the video at the top of this article. “The tank started moving and then slowly, very slowly, we saw it sink, and people were yelling at us.”testifies Pascal, who was at the side of the street with friends when the metal structure collapsed.
We never thought this could happen
A resident of Trouville
Everyone who witnessed the scene is still shocked this morning. “We never thought it could happen in fact, we had a shock because we heard the screams”describes a lady in the TF1 report above. In total, 13 people were injured, two of whom were seriously injured, although no life-threatening injuries were predicted.
Vanessa was on duty at the brewery she manages during the event. She tried to help the victims however she could. “We had people who came to take shelter in the warmth, we offered some small hot chocolates to relax them and then warm them up”she says. The residents met by our team are having difficulty coping this Sunday morning. “We want to entertain people, children, parents, everyone, and in the end it turns into a disaster”estimates a lady.
