FC Barcelona conceded a third match without a victory against Las Palmas (1-2) in La Liga. A bad result which could benefit Real Madrid which has two games in hand.

Despite its midweek victory in the Champions League against (3-0), FC Barcelona no longer seems to find the right recipe in the championship. Undisputed leader since the start of the season, Barça has been struggling in recent weeks. As proof, his new surprise defeat against Las Palmas (1-2), 17th before kick-off. Raphinha's 9th goal of the season did not allow his team to take three points. After the defeat at Real Sociedad and the draw at Celta Vigo, the Catalans lost this time at home.

Las Palmas surprises Barça

It's a real surprise because before the start of the match, the specialists would not have bet on the visitors. Las Palmas waited until the 10th day to obtain their first victory in La Liga. On the Montjuïc pitch, the visitors stayed in place, taking advantage of a few counter-attack situations to worry the Flick gang. Less successful, Barça found the bar at the end of the first half through Raphinha. The Brazilian will also score in his team's equalizer on the hour mark. Found in front of the area, Raphinha sent a heavy strike to the ground, unstoppable for the visitors' goalkeeper. But before that, Barça was surprised. A collective action in five passes which allowed Sandro, the former Barcelona player, to deceive Pena (49th, 0-1). Shortly after the equalizer, Fabio Silva crucified Barça. Served behind the defense, the Portuguese scored his fifth goal of the season with a cross (67th, 1-2).

Balde taken out on stretcher

Without inspiration this Saturday, Barça failed to overthrow Las Palmas. The entry of Lamine Yamal changed nothing and Cillessen, the ex-Blaugrana goalkeeper, was decisive by removing Raphinha's free kick from under the bar (81st). A defeat – Barça lost its third match of the season in La Liga – which hurts for Flick's men, especially since Alejandro Balde gave up his place in the first half. Following a violent collision with Sandro, the Barcelona full-back coughed heavily and was unable to regain his place. Barça is now only four points ahead of Real, who will host Getafe this Sunday.
