Pedri will face UD Las Palmas for the first time as a Barça player

Pedri is having a great time as a FC Barcelona player. After his first season, in which he played everything for the club and the national team, injuries have prevented him from being regular. From the 21/22 season until this one, he has been out for a total of 476 days. It is a very high figure, incompatible with top-level football. However, in the 24/25 season everything is going much better.

It is true that the footballer from Tegueste has suffered a grade 2 internal lateral sprain in his left knee with the Spanish National Team, but it did not make him miss any official match. Under Flick’s command, he has participated in all the matches: 19 games played, starting in all but 2 and substituted in 14. The German coach rations his minuteslike everyone else, to avoid him becoming overworked.

Pedri’s first game against Las Palmas

Since Pedri arrived at Barça in the 20/21 season, Barça have only faced the Gran Canarian team on two occasions. This Saturday’s game, at 2:00 p.m. in Montjuic, will be the third. However, for the Tenerife midfielder it will be the first. The Blaugrana team played and won two games against Las Palmas last season, both played in 2024, but González was not available due to injury.

Thus, in addition to being a game in which FC Barcelona must try to win in order to get three points in LaLiga again, it will be special for his number ‘8’. He arrived at the island team in 2018, from Real Juventud Laguna. He spent two seasons wearing the yellow jersey, being the property of the Blaugrana team in the second, but he remained on loan there. His talent and performance made him the light of the team and he won the affection of the ‘pío-pío’ fans in a very short time. Now, he will face his former club.
