Clara Luciani, Vianney, Garou…: the stars present for the reopening concert of Notre-Dame-de-

On December 7, a major concert will be organized on the square in front of Notre-Dame-de- for the reopening of the cathedral, 5 years after the fire. Friday November 29, Télévisions unveiled the casting for this evening which will be broadcast on its channels.

On April 15, 2019, the eyes of France are riveted on the Île de la Cité, in the heart of Paris. In a moment that seems suspended in time, Notre-Dame-de-Parisone of the most emblematic buildings in French history, goes up in smoke, ravaged by fire which was triggered while the building was under construction. The framework, a true work of art, disappears, as does the emblematic spire of the cathedral. Very quickly, solidarity begins : some of the greatest fortunes in France are making donations to start the reconstruction work, but also personalities who are far from anonymous. Alain Souchon notably offered the handwritten texts of two of his greatest hits during an auction. Jean-Jacques Annaud, for his part, decides to make a film to return to the disaster, even if his Notre-Dame is burning was a flop at the cinema.

Classical and pop music on the program

Five and a half years later, the cathedral will soon be returned to the French. On December 7, a giant concert will be organized on the square in front of Notre-Dame for its inauguration in the presence, undoubtedly, of many personalities. The stars will in any case be present on the stage of the concert organized by France Télévisions, which unveiled this Friday the list of artists for the event. In particular, we will find a big name in music as maestro to direct the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra and the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame: Gustavo Dudamel, former musical director of the Paris Opera and future artistic and musical director of the New York Philharmonic, who will notably conduct the Chinese virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, seen at the Coronation concert of Charles III.

While big names in international pop have been announced in recent weeks (Paul McCartney and Bono in particular), the musical programming will ultimately be very French. Clara Luciani, Vianney and Garou will be the headliners, accompanied by DJ Michael Canitrot. Also note the presence of the Lebanese singer Hiba Tawajin, seen in The Voice in 2015, or the Franco-Beninese Angélique Kidjo, holder of five Grammys.
