REPORTAGE – The President of the Republic made a “final site visit” to Paris Cathedral on Friday. The opportunity for him, in these difficult political times, to highlight his role in this challenge met within the allotted time.
Emmanuel Macron finally had his speech within the almost thousand-year-old walls of Notre-Dame de Paris. The Élysée officially called this a “ word of thanks » to some 1,300 artisans present on Friday at the end of the “ last site visit » from the president, a week before the reopening ceremony, Saturday December 7.
When concluding his twenty-minute speech, standing on a small platform in the middle of the nave, the head of state did not fail to recall the ambitious deadline he had set. “ You kept this promise to rebuild Notre-Dame in five years » et « it is a source of immense pride for the entire nationhe says.
