The French Surfing Federation announced the sad news this Friday, November 29 on social networks.

“Rest in peace, Amandine.” The Surf League is in mourning this Friday, November 29, after the tragic death of champion Amandine Chazot. The young woman, aged only 33, died from cancer. She was a stand-up paddle champion, having won six French championship titles and twice finishing as world vice-champion.

Licensed in Pont-L'Abbé (Finistère), “it is with immense sadness that the Brittany Surf League learns of the premature departure of Amandine Chazot, an exceptional athlete and a source of inspiration for our entire community”, writes the body in a press release.

“Amandine was not only a great champion, she embodied the deep values ​​of our sport: perseverance, passion and immense humility. Her light and her smile will continue to shine in our memories, and her journey will remain an example for the future generations.”
