“I was just the receptacle of his anger”: the Breton deputy Mickaël Bouloux at the heart of the start of the fight in the Assembly recounts

Defeated by the obstruction of the presidential camp, the left failed to repeal the pension reform on Thursday during the LFI parliamentary niche in the National Assembly. In the hemicycle, the day was particularly tense, culminating in an incident caused, around 10 p.m., by the MoDem deputy for Nicolas Turquois. The latter attacked socialist MP Mickaël Bouloux in a very virulent manner.

“Many fellow MPs have expressed surprise to me that I was at the center of the incident, as I am known for my calmness. But I am not the initiative. At that time there was a suspension of the session. I was sitting in my seat, working on my computer. Suddenly, Nicolas Turquois came towards me, speaking loudly and with big gestures, saying he was a victim of harassment,” says Mickaël Bouloux. “We are almost neighbors in the chamber and he has family in my constituency. I was just the receptacle of Nicolas Turquois's anger,” he says, assuring that he did not see the rest of the incidents, which pitted the MoDem deputy against several LFI deputies. After the intervention of his group president, Marc Fesneau, and the ushers of the Assembly, Nicolas Turquois ended up leaving the hemicycle to calm down.

Nicolas Turquois admits to having “gone crazy”

This Friday morning, the MoDem deputy delivered his version of the facts on BFMTV. Recognizing that he had “gone crazy”, he returned to the engine of his anger. “For two days, there has been a list of deputies who have tabled amendments which has been widely distributed by the Insoumise networks, including sent to my relatives. “That I take responsibility for my political decisions is one thing, that pressure is put on my loved ones is another,” he denounced. “So the topic went from there. It would be good for the Socialist Party to speak out about these denunciation practices,” he continued.

The case of Nicolas Turquois will be examined by the office of the National Assembly. This is not the first time that the MoDem MP has been talked about in this type of incident. On July 19, he almost came to blows with two RN deputies, Jean-Philippe Tanguy and Émeric Salmon. Here too, the bailiffs of the National Assembly had to intervene.
