It is with great sadness that we learned of the disappearance of Amandine Chazot, who had been battling illness for years.
A member of the French team, she was twice vice-world champion in stand up paddle (2017 and 2019), and had won the national title six times.
More than a great champion, the Breton (33 years old) inspired an entire generation of women who, today, shine internationally thanks to her.
His kindness, his benevolence, his simplicity and his strength of character were unanimous.
We saw her smiling and strong again last June, when she carried the Olympic flame during the Brittany League relay at Pointe de la Torche.
She had decided since the beginning of the year to put her radiologist coat in the locker room and returned to the competition. With success in fact, since she brilliantly won in May in the Green Paddle Race in Loire Atlantique.
We send all our condolences to her loved ones and friends and we offer our support to her family in this ordeal, and particularly to her husband Boris and her young son Cillian. Our thoughts are also with our friends at the Pagaies Club de Pont-l'Abbé and the Brittany Surf League.
